Daily Poem: To a Young Girl, by W.B. Yeats

I’ve been feeling under the weather the past few days (and my, have we had a lot of weather to feel under!), so no draws to post. However, today’s poem is one of my favorites, so I am making sure it’s posted.

To A Young Girl

My dear, my dear, I know
More than another
What makes your heart beat so;
Not even your own mother
Can know it as I know,
Who broke my heart for her
When the wild thought,
That she denies
And has forgot,
Set all her blood astir
And glittered in her eyes.

~William Butler Yeats
