In the Seven Woods
~ William Butler Yeats

I have heard the pigeons of the Seven Woods

Make their faint thunder, and the garden bees

Hum in the lime-tree flowers; and put away

The unavailing outcries and the old bitterness

That empty the heart. I have forgot awhile

Tara uprooted, and new commonness

Upon the throne and crying about the streets

And hanging its paper flowers from post to post,

Because it is alone of all things happy.

I am contented, for I know that Quiet

Wanders laughing and eating her wild heart

Among pigeons and bees, while that Great Archer,

Who but awaits His hour to shoot, still hangs

A cloudy quiver over Pairc-na-lee.

The Giants' Tarot, Raven Kaldera

The Giants’ Tarot, Raven Kaldera

Draw for October 14, 2016:
Active Influence: Bolthorn/Two of Wands
Rune: Sowelu/Sun, Light
Hidden Influence: Asvid/The Hierophant

Things need to change, and you are the person who must create those changes. Sowelu gives you the insight to figure out what needs to be done, and the energy to take action. Choose a teacher with care; not all who call themselves teachers possess the knowledge—and wisdom—to teach well.

Bindrune for Time Cycles; or, This, Too, Shall Pass

October 12, 2016 | Filed Under Bindrunes | Comments Off on Bindrune for Time Cycles; or, This, Too, Shall Pass

If you are new to working with bindrunes, I suggest you read the introductory bindrune post here, then return to this post to read about this specific bindrune.

Things take time. Things we really want seem to take longer to manifest and go by too quickly, and things we don’t want appear out of the blue and take far too long to resolve.

This bindrune will help you be patient as you work through a cycle of time, either the focused effort of working towards a goal, or working through a situation that is passing with all the pain of a kidney stone.

Bindrune of Ear, Wendhorn, and Chalc

Bindrune of Ear, Wendhorn, and Chalc

Ear (left tile, black in bindrune): The rune of gradual transition, the slow return to dust and the eventual rebirth. Ear lends strength as you move through the process.

Wendhorn (center tile, blue in bindrune): The rune of the cycles of the moon, and thus the cycles of time. Wendhorn helps with patience, and with making the most of the time, whether it’s going too fast or too slow.

Chalc (right tile, purple in bindrune): The rune of the Grail, the holy container for your life and energies. As you are waiting for the chalice to refill, Chalc gives encouragement of better times ahead, and helps you appreciate what is good each day.

The bindrune on the left was done in colored pencil. The one on the right was done with fine point calligraphy markers. They are shown in two different media to give an idea of how the same bindrune looks different depending on how it is created.

You could put a drop of sunflower or marigold oil to reinforce the positive energies, or a drop of your favorite oil on it to reinforce the energy with your personal scent. You can also use a magical oil, such as a hoodoo oil or other type of specially prepared oil.

Remember that this, too, shall pass. The problems will be solved, you will feel like yourself again, and life will be better.

To A Young Girl
~ William Butler Yeats

My dear, my dear, I know
More than another
What makes your heart beat so;
Not even your own mother
Can know it as I know,
Who broke my heart for her
When the wild thought,
That she denies
And has forgot,
Set all her blood astir
And glittered in her eyes.
