The Giants’ Tarot, Raven Kaldera
Draw for November 9, 2016:
Active Influence: Loki & Thor/Seven of Swords
Rune: Teiwaz/Truth (reversed)
Hidden Influence: Gunnlod/Two of Cups
Lies, treachery, and deceit. If you agree to a bad deal or a dishonest plan, be sure you understand what you’re agreeing to—someone who wants you to lie is lying to you. Defend your interests, defend yourself, and get out as soon as you can.
This is a representation of Loki, from the Norse myths:
Loki, by Arthur Rackham
This is a photo of Tom Hiddleston, a highly talented British actor:
Tom Hiddleston, BAFTA 2015
who plays a comic book character called Loki in movies created by Marvel Comics, and who has very little to do with the traditional Norse God:
MCU Loki as played by Tom Hiddleston
As adorable as Mr. Hiddleston is (and I do have a serious fangirl crush on him), and as fun as the MCU movies are, when I say I worship Loki, I mean this:
Loki by Arthur Rackham
and not this:
MCU Loki as played by Tom Hiddleston
Good talk. Glad we cleared this up.
A Mirror
~ Jean Follain
Translated from French by Czeslaw Milosz and Robert Hass
Having gone upstairs
on steps of dark oak
she finds herself before
a mirror with a worm-eaten frame
she contemplates in it her virgin torso
all the countryside is ablaze
and gently arrives at her feet
a domestic beast
as if to remind her
of the animal life
which conceals in itself also
the body of a woman.
The Giants’ Tarot, Raven Kaldera
Draw for November 8, 2016:
Active Influence: Bolthorn/Two of Wands
Rune: Gar/The Unknown
Hidden Influence: Nidhogg/Strength
You must make the change you have been avoiding. You don’t know what’s going to happen, or how it’s going to turn out. You don’t need to know. What you do know is that you have the strength to make the change and to build the new life ahead, regardless of how those changes manifest. Be brave, and move forward.
The Giants’ Tarot, Raven Kaldera
Draw for November 6, 2016:
Active Influence: Bergelmir/Six of Swords
Rune: Fyreudal/Bellows
Hidden Influence: Laufey/The Empress
You have inspiration and encouraging energies on your side, offering you support to move and to make changes. You also have circumstances which require change; when the flood waters are rising, inaction is not an option, you must get on the boat.
The process may be more demanding than you expect. Take good care of yourself, and make time to eat properly and rest well. You can’t do your best if you don’t feel your best.
Side note: the oracles have a sense of humor. I woke up with a cold, and I have an international flight today, so this reading provoked a wry laugh when I turned the cards.
