My November Guest
~ Robert Frost

My Sorrow, when she’s here with me,
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be;
She loves the bare, the withered tree;
She walked the sodden pasture lane.

Her pleasure will not let me stay.
She talks and I am fain to list:
She’s glad the birds are gone away,
She’s glad her simple worsted gray
Is silver now with clinging mist.

The desolate, deserted trees,
The faded earth, the heavy sky,
The beauties she so truly sees,
She thinks I have no eye for these,
And vexes me for reason why.

Not yesterday I learned to know
The love of bare November days
Before the coming of the snow,
But it were vain to tell her so,
And they are better for her praise.

The Giants' Tarot, Raven Kaldera

The Giants’ Tarot, Raven Kaldera

Draw for November 22, 2016
Active Influence: Duva/Seven of Cups
Rune: Gebo/Gift
Hidden Influence: Sinmora/Queen of Wands

You are figuring out how to share your gifts with the world in a meaningful and rewarding way (including, and perhaps especially financially, rewarding). Duva tells you to explore your resources—you may have overlooked something previously, or you can find a new way to make use of what’s there. Consider with seriousness possibilities you may not have fully considered before, ideas which seemed too improbable or unrealistic to pursue. Perhaps the idea is far-fetched, but upon reflection, you see a practical way to manifest its essence. Sinmora gives you the energy and creative drive to do your work, and to do it joyfully, dancing your authentic path through life.

The Gods are speaking, and you need to listen to Them. You have much Work to do for Them this week. Emotions will run high for everyone. You need to manage your emotional stuff so you can do your Work, part of which will probably be helping others to manage their emotional stuff—Aurboda is a healer, and she travels the Realms to take healing herbs to others who need them. This is a good time to strengthen your network of emotional, social, and professional support. It is all about who you know, and who you are for the people who know you.

Daily Poem: Phenomenal Woman ~ Maya Angelou

Phenomenal Woman
~Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
