Bestla reappears in the Active Influence position (She was there Wednesday as well), reinforcing your confidence and reminding you of your strengths. Utgard-Loki is today’s Hidden Influence, and also appeared in the Weekly Insight as the Active Influence for the week. Mind your manners, and mind your business carefully—trust in the Gods, but tie your ship.
Os is all about listening closely and speaking clearly. Messages are coming at you from all directions—the Gods, other people, signs and symbols all around—filter out what is not helpful, and find the sound in the noise. Speak clearly and as eloquently as you can—even if you don’t think of yourself as an orator, today you have the words, and the right way to use them, to make your point.

Next to my own skin, her pearls. My mistress
bids me wear them, warm them, until evening
when I’ll brush her hair. At six, I place them
round her cool, white throat. All day I think of her,
resting in the Yellow Room, contemplating silk
or taffeta, which gown tonight? She fans herself
whilst I work willingly, my slow heat entering
each pearl. Slack on my neck, her rope.
She’s beautiful. I dream about her
in my attic bed; picture her dancing
with tall men, puzzled by my faint, persistent scent
beneath her French perfume, her milky stones.
I dust her shoulders with a rabbit’s foot,
watch the soft blush seep through her skin
like an indolent sigh. In her looking-glass
my red lips part as though I want to speak.
Full moon. Her carriage brings her home. I see
her every movement in my head…. Undressing,
taking off her jewels, her slim hand reaching
for the case, slipping naked into bed, the way
she always does…. And I lie here awake,
knowing the pearls are cooling even now
in the room where my mistress sleeps. All night
I feel their absence and I burn.

Whatever is on today’s agenda, you are more than equal to the tasks and challenges—as well as the joys. Bestla, the Mother of Odin, and thus the Mother of the Aesir, is shown with Her throne marked with Berkana, Nauthiz, and Perthro. She encourages you to take the chance on growth, on new opportunities, to help you find what you need. Bestla tells you that you have skills and resources, so now is the time to act.
Erda, the Earth Mother, reinforces the message of mothering—that is, take care of yourself. Whatever is going on, no matter how busy you are, you need to take the time to eat properly, drink plenty of water, and nurture your body and soul.

A Strange New Cottage In Berkeley
~ Alan Ginsberg
All afternoon cutting bramble blackberries off a tottering
brown fence
under a low branch with its rotten old apricots miscellaneous
under the leaves,
fixing the drip in the intricate gut machinery of a new toilet;
found a good coffee pot in the vines by the porch, rolled a
big tire out of the scarlet bushes, hid my marijuana;
wet the flowers, playing the sunlit water each to each,
returning for godly extra drops for the stringbeans and daisies;
three times walked round the grass and sighed absently:
my reward, when the garden fed me its plums from the
form of a small tree in the corner,
an angel thoughtful of my stomach, and my dry and love-
lorn tongue.
